SUSTAINABILITY

We are part of a bigger legacy that is more than just Standard Carpets. The community and environment we live in, is critical for us to respect and honour. We aim to promote genuine change within the carpet manufacturing industry to lead the way in caring for the world we live in. Together we can make an uncertain future a little more sustainable.

We practice sustainable environmental policies, and use no water throughout our manufacturing process.

Our products comply with international quality norms. We are the largest producer of solar power in the private sector and produce 60% of day time electricity consumption from solar panels installed on our factory rooftop.

OUR COMMITMENT

At Standard Carpets, our journey towards sustainability was brought to the forefront of our company’s mission from 2016. Moving from Sharjah, into our new stateof-the-art manufacturing facility in Dubai Industrial City, Dubai; we were able to take the utmost care in aligning our production in accordance with the UAE’s sustainability goals. Our current facility in Dubai Industrial City is green certified and fully equipped to reduce, reuse and recycle.

REDUCING EMISSIONS THROUGH PRODUCT INNOVATION
One of our key steps is focusing on the recycled content in our backing, three of our carpet backing solutions are 100% recycled and our regular carpet backing contains 45-50% recycled content.
RESOURCE-EFFICIENT TRANSPORTATION
We are working diligently to make our transportation more ecologically efficient, focusing on reducing pollution and CO2 emissions.
LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT
Life cycle assessment (LCA) is one of several techniques we use to help us understand the impacts of our products on the environment, from the sourcing of raw materials through to manufacturing, distribution, consumer use and eventually, disposal. Our Products are BREEAM certified and CRI green label plus.
